CHARLES W. RETTSTADT, CFEPresident and founder of RNI, has a masters of arts degree in both criminal justice and public administration. His practical experience includes two years as a police officer, three years as an armed forces criminal investigator and ten years as a Special Agent with the Michigan Attorney General's Office, Organized Crime Division. He is the author of manuals on public as well as private investigations, and he has been qualified in federal court as an expert witness on financial transactions and also acceptable investigation practices in Michigan. He has been interviewed on radio and television, spoken to focus groups and written many articles on business fraud. Charlie is licensed by the states of Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin to operate an investigative service in those states. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a licensed insurance adjuster. Charlie has experience in white collar crime, complex criminal and civil fraud matters, business competitive intelligence strategies, labor racketeering investigations, contract negotiations and benefit plan abuse.

JOSEPH T. RAUTIOJOSEPH T. RAUTIO, Operations Manager of the Petoskey office and RNI's chief fire investigator has a degree in criminal justice and was certified as an emergency medical technician. He formerly worked as a public safety officer in Petoskey and was cross trained as both a police officer and firefighter. After leaving police work in 1996, he successfully managed a multi-million dollar marine store business. While in the public sector, Joe specialized in areas such as arson investigation, crime scene investigation and interviewing and interrogation. He had many opportunities to work with both the insurance industry and business community relative to many types of criminal and civil fraud matters, and he possesses a Wisconsin detective's license. Joe has been with RNI since 1999.

STEVEN D. PETERSONSTEVEN D. PETERSON, Operations Manager of the Marquette office (serving the UP and Wisconsin) and Director of Marketing and Sales is a native of Michigan's upper peninsula and an avid outdoors man. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Northern Michigan University, and he has a diverse work background. In addition to owning his own business, and working in real estate, he has worked as a business sales manager for a nationwide telecommunications conglomerate. Steve also possesses a Wisconsin private detective license. He has been with RNI since 2004.

JILL M. KINGSBURYJILL M. KINGSBURY, Grand Rapids Assignment Coordinator and Field Investigator, is a native to the West Michigan area. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University, where she studied cognitive-behavioral psychology and criminology. While at CMU, she conducted research on the effects of anxiety and suggestibility on accuracy and confidence levels of eyewitness testimony as well as assisted in graduate research. Jill continues to pursue her interest in Criminal Psychology by conducting investigations for RNI and is experienced in a variety of field and sub-rosa investigation techniques. In addition to her academic skills, Jill is a trained classical pianist and has performed in many musical arenas since the age of 7. Outdoor interests include; hiking, trail running and kayaking. Jill has been with RNI since 2005.

PATRICIA L. LANCE, CFEPATRICIA L. LANCE, Certified Fraud Examiner, Online Investigations Specialist and Financial Investigator, has a varied professional, educational and personal background, which has proven to be beneficial in gathering information to meet clients' needs. She has a dual degree in Systems Analysis and Microcomputer Management, in addition to twenty years of management and leadership experience, which includes several years in the automotive industry where she was involved in union contract negotiation and conflict resolution. Electronic information gathering is changing daily, and Patty is most expert at gathering all types of business-related information either through new or well-established databases as well as on the ever-changing Internet. In addition to her academic skills, she has spent many years as both a teacher and student of martial arts, which has earned her the rank of Second Degree Black Belt and Top-Ten World Competitor. Additionally, Patty has spent many years as a volunteer with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, Victim Advocate Unit, and has earned the designation of Senior Advocate. Patty has been with RNI since 1998.

CRAIG WOODHOUSECRAIG WOODHOUSE, Major Case and Financial Investigator, began his career as a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, then spent 27 years with the U.S. Department of Labor before joining RNI. At the Department of Labor, his skills helped successfully identify and prosecute major organized crime and business/union offenders. Craig is a recognized expert investigator of financial schemes and fraudulent activities. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a major in criminal justice. Craig has been with RNI since 1997.

MARTIN A. SADDLERMARTIN A. SADDLER, Vice President and Operations Manager of the Alpena and Lansing offices, is a native of Alpena, Michigan. After earning a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice/security administration, he worked for several years as a security manager and a district loss prevention manager before beginning employment with RNI in 1994. He has extensive experience in video technology and covert operations, and he possesses a Wisconsin detective license.
